l) The ryplicant rpresents alt parties in idøest, and affirms that the driveway ap'proach (es) is to be conslructed by
him for the bona fide purpose of socuring acccss to his property and not for the purpose of tloing business or
servicing vehicles on the toad rigþt of way.
2) The applican¡ sball furnish all labor and materials, perform all work, and pay all costs in connection with the
c{nshr}ctiotr of the driveway(s}. All work shall be completed within ninefy (90) days of the permit date.

repnesentative and alt matqials usod.sþll bs of satisfactory quahty and subject to inspection and approval of the

of C-ouuty Commissionss and iheir duly appointed agçnts and ernployee shall be hsld harmless against any action
for personal injrry or property ilanråge sustained by any resson of tho exercise of the Permit.
5) The {pplicant shall assume responsibility for the removal or clearânce of snow, icg or sleet qpon åny portion of
the ùivcvray apprmch (es) even thougb deposited on the driveway(s) in the course of the County snow rcmoval
operations.
ó) In the event it becomæ necêssaÐr to rffioys any right-of-ïvay fôncs, the posts on either side of the entrance shall
be surely braced before the fuca is cut to pre'vent any slacking of the rernaining fence and all posts and wirs
re.maved shall bc turned ovs to the District Road Supervisor of the Boarcl of County Commissioncrs.
7) No revisious or additions shalÌ be marle to the driveway(s) or its appurt€nances on the right-of-way withou¡
written pennission of the Board of County Coruuissioners.
8) Provisions and specifications outlined he¡:ein shall apply on all roads under the jurisdiction of the Board of County
Commissioners of Garfield County, Colorado, and the Specifications, set forth on the attached haeof and
incorporated he¡ein as conditions hereof.
9) Final inspection of driveway will be requiretl upon completÍo¡ and ¡nust be approved by person issuing
permit or representative of person issuing permit
The inspection and sign off must be done prior to any CO from the Building and Planning
Department being lssued.

SnecifÏcations.
l. A ddveway approach is unde¡stood to be that portion of the county road right-of way between the
pavmemt edge and the properfy line that ís designed and used for the interchange of t¡affrc
bets'e@ tho roadway and abutting property,
2. At any intersectioO a driveway shall be reshicted for a zufficient distance &om thc intersection to
preservethe normal and safe movement of fuafftc, (It is recommended for ru¡al residence
entrances that a minimum interseotion cleatance of 50 feet be provided and for rural commercial
eßü"ûc€s aminimum of 100 feet beprovided.)
3. All enfrancos and exits shall be so located and constructed that vehicles approaching or using
them will be able to obøin adequate sight distanoe in both direotions along the couûty road in
o¡derto maüeuver safeþ and without interfering with county roadûaffic.
4. The Applicant shall not be permitted to erect any sign or display material, either fixcd or
movable, on or extelrding over any portion of the county road right-of-way.
5. Gene,ralty, no more tbsn one approach shall be allowed any pæoel or property the frontage of
which is less than one hundred (100) feet. Additional e,ntrances or exits for parcels having a
frontage iu excess of one hundred 100) feet shall be pernritted olrly after slrowing of actual
convenience and necessity.
6. All driveways shall be so locatedthatthe flard portion adjac'ent to the haveled way will not
encroach rpon adjoíning property.
7. No comnercial driveway shall have a width greater than thirty (30) feet meqsured at right angles
to the centøtinç of the driveway exce,pt as increased by permissible radü. No nonconmercial
drivern'ay shall have a width greater than twenty (20) fcet measured at right angles to the
centqline ofthe driveway, except as increæed by pemrissible radii.
8. the axis of an approach to the road may be at a right angle to the centerline of the county road
and of any mgle between ninety (90) degrees and sixty (60) degree$ but shall not bc less than
si:tt5r (6û) degrees. Adjustment will be made according to the type of traffic to be served and other
physical conditions.

10. The grads of ontrance and exít shall slope clownward and away from the road zurface at the same
¡ate as the nomral shoulder slope and for a distance equal to ihe width of the shoulder buf in no
case less than tworty (20) feet from the pavoment edge. Approaoh grades are rqshicted to not

I 1. All drivervays and approaohes shall be so sofütructed that they shall not interfere with the
drainage system of the street or county rcad. The Applicant will bc required to provide, at his
own expensg drainage structures at entrances and exits, which will becomc an integral part of the
existing drainage system, The Boad of County Commissione¡s or their representativq priorto
installation, must approvethe dimensions and t¡ryes of all drainago $tructures,
