NOTICE
AuthorÍtv. This application for a Building Permit must be slgned by the Owner of the property, described above, or
an authorized agent. ¡f th€ signature below is not that of the Owner, a separâte letter of authority, signed by the
Owner, must bê provided with this Application.
Lcral Acccss. A Building Permit cannot be issued without proof of legal and adequate access to the property for
purposes of inspections by the Building Division.
Othcr Pcrmlt¡. Multiple separate permits may be required: (1) State Electr¡cal Permit (2) County OWTS Permit,
{3) another permit required for use on the property identified above, e.g. State or County Highway/ Road Access or
a Stete Wastewater Discharge Permit.
Void PcrmÍt. A Building Permit becomes null and void if the work authorized is not commenced within 180 days of
the date of issuance and if work is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after commenc€ment.

I hereby certify that I have read this Application and thatthe information contained above is true and correct. I
understand that the Bullding Division accepts the Application, along with the pläns and specifications'and other
data submitted by me or on my behalf (submittals), based upon my certification as to accurecy. Assuming
completeness of the submittals and approvalof this Application, a Building Permit will be issued granting
permission to me, as Owner, to construct the structure(s) and facilities detailed on the submittals reviewed by the
Building Division. ln consideration of the issuance of the Building Perm¡t, I agree that I and my agents will comply
with provisions of any federal, state or local taw regulating the work and the Garfield County Building Code, OWTS
regulations and applicable land use regulations (County Regulation(s)). I acknowledge that thê Building Permit
may be suspended or revoked, upon notice ftom the County, ifthe location, construct¡on or use ofthe structure(s)
and facility(ies), described above, are not in compliance with County Regulation(s) or any other applicable law.
I hereby grant permission to the Building Division to enter the property, described above, to inspect the work. I
turther acknowledge that the issuance of the Building Permit does not prevent the Building Official from: (1)
requiring the correction of errors in the subm¡ttals, if anç discovered after issuance; or (21 stopping construction
or use of the structure(sl or facility(iesl if such is in violation of County Regulation(s) or any other applicable law.
Review of this Application, including submittals, and inspections of the work by the Building Division do not
constitute an acceptance of responsibility or liability by the County of errors, omissions or discrepancies. As the
Owner, I acknowledge that respons¡bil¡ty for compliance with federal, state and local laws and County Regulations
rest with me and my authorized agents, including without limitation my archltect designer,'engineer and/ or
builder.

Scope of Work:
This grading permit is for the purposes of creating a base for a small horse barn and creating a
small outdoor horseback riding arena. The barn grading will provide a base for a concrete slab,
pllings, and apron for the barn, and provide drainage away frcm the slab and stalls. Tcpsoil will
be removed, trenches for plumbing will be excavated, and the ground will be leveled.
Compacted gravel will be placed under the slab poñlon of the barn, and graded to draln away
from the barn. Holes will be dug forfootings. The bam is approximately 1,800 square feet. The
barn is within thê bu¡ld¡ng envelope forthe property'.
The arena grading will consist of topsoil removal and stockpile, placement of 3 inches rcad
base, with 5 inches of sand overthe road base. The arena is proposed to be 45x90, or 4,050
square feet. The proposed arena is adJacent to the proposed barn.
The proposed arena is located on both lots 5 and 6. The applicant owns both lots. An
approximate four foot fence will be constructed around the arena.
The existing site is a meadow wlth pasture grasses and other native grasses. Areas disturbed
during grading outside of the building or arena footprint will be reseeded within a pasture
grass/native grass seed mix. Soils are sandy clay loam with cobbles.
There are cunently no noxious weeds in the construction site, but weeds will be managed
following construction. Weed controlwillinclude mowing, pulling and herbicide application as
appropriate.
