Deck Detail Modification
Dear Slawek,
The modified deck drawings (R2 – Stamped 5/18/22) were developed based on the geotechnical
inspection by Kumar 4/28/22. The details and design utilized the finding detailed in Kumar’s stamped
letter report (revised 5/6/22). Due to site conditions, achieving standard frost depth of three feet was
not realistic with the large boulders and rock encountered at specific locations. Kumar’s review
confirmed it is acceptable to dowel into the rock with the foundations to achieve the required structural
support. The footer at gridline 9/B was not specifically noted in Kumar’s report. After excavation,
Domoplex discovered similar rock conditions to the those denoted in the geotechnical report and a
doweled footer was installed.
