You, the property owner, installed the system. The septic tank and pumping system will function as a lift station. Effluent will be pumped to a wastewater collection line for the City of Rifle. A 4-inch diameter, SDR-35 sewer line with minimum 2% fall to the new septic tank was installed from the residence. A 1500-gallon, two-compartment Valley Precast concrete septic tank with pumping system in the second compartment was installed. Risers bring the manhole lids to grade. The inlet tee was present at the time of our inspection. The pump recommended by Dodson Engineered Products out of Glenwood Springs, Colorado for this application was Goulds AT505 grinder pump (specifications enclosed). This pump was installed and wired at the time of our inspection. The original control panel installed was not functioning properly (pump not activating in AUTO when the floats were lifted) and was replaced with a Zoeller panel (specifications enclosed). The control panel is currently mounted low on the post. We recommend raising the control panel several feet to assure it is above the level of the snow that may accumulate in the winter months. A 2-inch diameter Schedule 40 pump line was installed with a minimum 1% rise. A ¼” diameter weep hole should be placed in the elbow of the pump line inside the septic tank for drain back to avoid freezing. We estimated an approximate distance of 485-feet to the point where the pump line enters the connection line. It should be noted that there may be approximately 85-gallons of drain back with this pumping distance for a 2-inch pump line. We recommended an approximate 250-gallon dose. There was no water in the septic tank at the time of our inspection. Once the system is in use, we recommend the pumping system be activated and checked at the collection line to assure effluent is reaching the destination. The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. CBO Inc. should be notified if changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent on the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions. Sincerely, CBO Inc. Model 10-0125 An Electrical Control Panel is used on a Simplex pump application where automatic electrical cycling of the pump is desired for added protection in residential or commercial applications. A Control Panel is required for all systems using a nonautomatic pump. The built-in alarm system, a standard feature, will activate when the water level becomes unusually high. All electrical systems must be installed by a qualifi ed electrician and according to the National Electrical Code. (See Section 430-71 though 430-113, plus any others that apply.)
