Abel,
On June 2, 2022, we visited the site of the Montanez Residence under construction at
32 South Meadow Circle near Rifle in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS
installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-18-5107. At the time of our site visit, the owner
had installed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new poly 1,530-
gallon two-compartment septic tank, the new effluent line, the new distribution box, and three
gravelless chamber beds. The septic tank and distribution box were installed level with access
brought to grade. An effluent filter had been installed in the outlet tee of the septic tank. The
gravelless chamber beds were level, with 6-feet between the beds. Each bed consisted of four
rows of 11 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per row (44 chambers per bed, 132 total chambers,
1,584 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each corner of each bed. In
our opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS
Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required
regarding this permit.
