Matt and John,
This letter is in regard to the exterior fireplace footing at the subject project that was not shown on the
approved Foundation Plan. The footing was formed in the field as an extension of the building perimeter
footing and is an 8” slab measuring 24” x 80” with single mat #4 rebar at 12” o.c. parallel to the building
wall and at 18” o.c. perpendicular to the wall, as shown in the attached photo. This footing is adequate
for the loads imposed by the chimney and fireplace with stone veneer.
