Dear Mr. McPherson,
As requested, structural steel special inspection was conducted per the IBC 2018
Edition - Chapter 17: Structural Tests and Special Inspection and the Garfield County
requirements. I arrived on-site at 8:15 AM. I met with you to review project requirements
and areas ready for inspection.
Anchor bolt inspection was conducted on the new shop structure according to the
on-site drawings supplied by SGM/ Premo Steel Buildings. All anchor bolts were
checked for tightness with a wrench. I observed all anchor bolts for the main framework
to be 5/8" all thread anchors epoxied in place. Upon completion, I observed all anchor
bolts to be in compliance with project specifications.
Purlin bolt inspection was conducted on the new shop structure according to the
on-site drawings supplied by SGM/ Premo Steel Buildings. I observed all purlin bolts to
be l/2n A3 07 bolts with no washers. Upon completion, I observed all purlin bolts to be
accounted for and to be in compliance with project specifications.
High strength bolt inspection was conducted on the new shop structure according
to the on-site drawings supplied by SGM/ Premo Steel Buildings. All high strength bolts
were required to be Snug Tight per project specifications and updated drawings provided
on site by you. I observed all bolts to be 5/8" ASTM A325 plain body bolts with no
washers. All main frame bolts were checked for tightness with a wrench. Upon
completion, I observed all bolts to be in compliance with project specifications and the
inspection criteria of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Research
Council on Bolted Connections (RCBC).
