Re: Changes to Plans at Kearney Residence - 505 Lions Ridge Road, Garfield County, Colorado

This letter is provided to document the following changes to the plans at the subject project.
l. Enlarge existing openings in North and South walls of Living Room r,r'ith nelv rough openings of
l1'-6; andlZ'-L",respectively. Nerl'headersaretobeeither 5.25"xII.25" PSLor(4) 1.75"x
14" LVLs. 4x trimurers shall be provided u'ith 5T6224 straps from nerv headers to trimmers.
Z. Existing 36" diameter Bigfoot piers to 36" frost depth rvith 8" diaureter extensions are adequate
for exisiing and ¡e.vr, loads. Provide nern CPT66 post bases for the nerv 6x6 posts. Nerv 10" x
10" concrete extensiols may be added over the top of existing rvith (4) #4 dowels drilled and
epoxied into existing with 4" embedment and 3" clear cover. Refer to attached detail.
3. L"dg"r, and attachrnents for new porch roof to eisting exterior walls may be as follovi's: 3" x 4"
lornãr ledger below the new rafters (to provide beming) and attached to r¡'all frarning with #10 x
4" screr¡,s @ 16" o.c. ((4) scrervs @.16" o.c. at North porch roof and (2) screws (ò, 16" o.c. at
So¡th porcñroof). Upper 3" x 9" blocking shall be provided between rafters to accept edge
nailing from the roof ply and to prevent racking of the rafters. Timberloks shall be provided as a
positive connection of each rafter and may be countersunk'
4. the post irnmediately to the left of Entry Door "A" is to be renroved and the beam extended into
the wall framing to form a bearn pocket. The beam is to bear on a minimum of (2) 2x studs
rnithin the rn'all framing.
