OWTS Permit #: SEPT‐6311
July 11, 2022
Jack,
On September 24, 2021, we visited the Czajka Residence under construction at 420 Pinon Point
near Glenwood Springs in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS
Permit # SEPT‐6311. At the time of our site visit, the contractor had installed the new sewer line, the
new cleanout adjacent to the residence, a new 1,500‐gallon two‐compartment septic tank with a pump
in the second compartment of the tank, the new pump line, the Automatic Distribution Valve, and the
two sand filter beds. The septic tank was installed level with access brought to grade. The unlined, over‐
excavated sand filter beds were constructed with three feet of secondary sand and measured 6.5 feet by
51 feet (663 ft2 of STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each corner of each bed. Effluent
is distributed across each bed via two laterals. The laterals were installed in GeoMat fabric placed
directly on the sand filter material. The laterals had 5/32‐inch diameter orifices every 3‐feet on center
facing down. The pump control panel was mounted within line‐of‐sight of the septic tank. In our
opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No
further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
Thank you,
