Sarah and Brandon,
On September 27, 2022, we visited the site of the Moon Residence under construction
at 5620 County Road 342 near Silt in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS
installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-7436. At the time of our site visit, the owner had
installed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new poly 1,500-gallon
three-compartment septic tank, the new effluent line, the distribution box, and the five gravelless
chamber trenches. The septic tank and distribution box were installed level with access brought
to grade. An effluent filter had been installed in the outlet tee of the septic tank. Photos of the
completed STA were sent on October 10th for review. The bed was level and consisted of 16
Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per trench (64 total chambers, 768 ft2 total STA). Additionally,
inspection ports were present at each corner of the bed. In our opinion, this system was
installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. Please submit an As-
built drawing of the system when available. No further action or review from Garfield County
Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
