RE: Structural Concrete Wall Pour Cold Joints
Sungold Heights Residence, Garfield County, Colorado
ESD Project # 21.097C
Marty & Rich,
Per your request, we have reviewed the details of the concrete wall construction joint. The locations of the cold
joints due to pour stops are along grid 1 between grids E and F and along grid 10 between grids F and G. Vertical
shear keys have been formed in the concrete wall at the joint. The horizontal wall reinforcement is continuous
through the joint. We find the locations and the detail to be in general conformance with our structural design
and thus should be capable of sustaining the design loads of the 2015 IRC/IBC and Garfield County amendments.
Waterproofing and envelope design should be addressed by others, typically the architect, building envelope
engineer or contractor.
Should you have any further questions regarding this issue, please feel free to contact our office.
Sincerely,
