See sheen shot. The stone guys say for us to span across the chimney with a stone cap it would need to be 4" thick. Your plan shows 3" max. It's about a 6' span. They are asking what the weight limit is so we can figure this out? We might also be able to do a concrete one that has metal in it for reinforcement. I attached the metal cap plans from the last house. If this is a weight issue, I think we just do this again. I would just do the metal cap concept. Having a 900 + lb chimney cap seemsI would just do the metal cap concept. Having a 900 + lb chimney cap seems like a lot (3 & x 6 & x 4 inch thick x 150 lbs/cubic &). like a lot (3 & x 6 & x 4 inch thick x 150 lbs/cubic &). 1. See pic of Stone Lintels. I think we need a 2" angle to support these? If so, what gauge? 1 /4 " min. thickness.1 /4 " min. thickness. 3. See 3 attached pic at Grid line L to M and F to K. They toenailed the tops of 2x4's instead of face nails. It this ok? That is fine. That is fine. This is for over framing. 4. See pic. Detail U / Page 6.1. The guys saw your note "do not daylight" and used 6 - 5/8" lags here. Is this, ok? Your plans say Thru Bolts? Lags in this specificLags in this specific instance are ok. instance are ok. 5. See pic. Grid K and 7. We have plenty of studs to support the girder truss. The triple LVL has 2-kings and 3 trimmers and then 2 more trimmers 16" away. It this ok or do we need to add 1 trimmer to make it a 4 pack? There is a triple LVL under all this. The 3 trimmers + 2 kings is enough ( acceptable.).The 3 trimmers + 2 kings is enough ( acceptable.). 6. See Pic. Grid K and 8. Your arrow for c-4 is under the girder truss. We have a 6 pack all together is this ok or do we need to add one? We just need 4-2x 6 (Min)We just need 4-2x 6 (Min) . IfIf you have 6, we're good.you have 6, we're good.
