RE: BLRE-06-22-7601 - request to WITHDRAW building application
My wife, Jennifer Richter Maurer, and I are the current owners to Lot 17, 2727 Elk
Springs Drive in the Elk Springs subdivision of Glenwood Springs. We have decided
not to proceed at this time with building permit application BLRE-06-22-7601 and do
not intend to commence any site related construction for a new single-family home at
this address. Please withdraw our permit application BLRE-06-22-7601, which is
currently under review and on hold.
Please let me know if you require any further information in order to withdraw this
application. Thank you.
Best,
James Maurer

Hello Jim,
Does this correspondence mean you do, in fact, want to withdraw the building
permit currently? If you would like to formally withdraw the current pending
building permit application, please send me an email stating your request to
withdraw and the reasoning behind your request.

BLRE-06-22-7601 - request to WITHDRAW building
application
Hello James,
Yes, received your voice message.
Yes, your building application has remained ON HOLD or
PENDING pursuant to your Architect’s communication last summer.
We understand your circumstances.
Yes, you may submit a request to WITHDRAW permit BLRE-06-22-
7601 by sending us a signed owner’s letter c/o cwirth@garfield-
county.com.
Letter should be addressed to the GARFIELD COUNTY CHIEF
BUILDING OFFICIAL.
Letter should state you own Lot 17, 2727 Elk Springs Drive, in Elk
Springs Subdivision, and you have decided not to proceed at this
time with building application BLRE-06-22-7601 and do not intend
to commence any site related construction for the new single-family
home at that address.
Also state that you would like the application currently under review
and ON HOLD to now be WITHDRAWN.
Should you wish to come and pick up the WITHDRAWN blueprints,
please include that special request in your letter (otherwise, we shall
assume it is acceptable to “recycle” the submitted blueprints through
county paper recycling system in our offices).
Once the WITHDRAWAL request letter has been received, we will
update the public file record and scan the lot owner communication
into the property record.
If you should decide to proceed with future work on the lot, then a
new building application and blueprints will be required for Garfield
County review based on adopted codes in effect at time of future
work.
Please let me know if this information is sufficient for your future
needs, or if a separate phone call to (202) 415-1283 is still needed.
FOOTNOTE: As the plans examiner review commenced and was
fully reviewed and corrections sent to the architect, the initial plan
check fees collected on June 16, 2022 have been expended.
That being stated, as no building permit was issued and no
construction commenced, then no building permit fees will now be
charged nor collected for the WITHDRAWN construction project.
Hope this helps clarify,
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
Colleen Wirth
