Dear Kevin,
On September 2,2021, we visited your property on Lot l, Stirling Ranch PUD, at 1002
Skipper Drive, Carbondale,CO 81623, in Garfield County, Colorado. The purpose of our site
visits was to select an area on the property for the proposed Soil Treatment Area. During the site
visit, your excavator Ryan lvy, dug two profile holes.
The OWTS is for a proposed 3-bedroom residence. It will consist of a 1O00-gallons,
three-compartments concrete septic tank by Valley Precast with an effluent filter, and an Orenco
Pump assembly, and the Soil Treatment Area will consist of 60 Quick 4 Plus, St¿ndard Infiltrator
Chambers in a bed configuration with a 3-foot sand filter and pressure dosing.
Revised site plan by Amos Underwood, PBR Workshop, and the information provided
through recent emails, were used as basis for the septic system design and for the present
relocation of the septic tank and the STA. Directions to the site from the Carbondale exit on CO-
82 are as follows: continue East on CO-82 for 3.8 mi to Catherine Store Road, turn left on
Catherine Store Road, continue for 2.3 mi turn right on Co Rd 102, right on La Casita Road,
right on Skipper Drive, continue to the end of the road. The lot is accessed via access easement
west from the Skipper Drive cul-de-sac.

tr Existing Structures: There were no exísting structures on the lot.
tr Location of existing and proposed wells on property: There are no wells
on the property. It is services by public water.
n Garfield County Environmental Health Department records: There were
no old record. The property wos vacant.

tr Topography: The topography of the leachfield site is moderate with an
overage slope of about I to 2 percent. Drainage is to the west.

A soil sample takenfrom Profile Hole I at 49-inches was classified as
Type 3, LTAR: 0.35 gpd/sf CLAY LOAM Due to large boulders ond
cobbles in Profile hole 2, 3 feet deep søndfilter and pressure dísnibution
is recommended.

Reconnaissance

n Topography: The topogroplry of the proposed leachfield site ís relatively
flaL The rows of infiltrators in the bed wíll run along the contours.
n Vegetation: The vegetation within the proposed leachfield síte consisted of
sparce wild grass, cocti, sage brush, and juniper trees. There were also
basalt roclcs on the surface. The site surroundíng the leachfieldwas
similar.
n Natural and cultural features: According to the Stirling Ranch Website:
"The ranch is located on a high mesa overlooking the Roaring Fork
Valley colled Missouri Heights. Missourí Heights was settled hack in the
1800's by ranching pioneers. They planted potatoes, hay, wheat, alfalfa,
and barley, and raised beef cattle and sheep. That is still the case for ø
few ranches today. The plateau is dotted by old patato cellars and school
houses. The historíc Missouri Heights Schoolhouse, near Stirling Ranch's
entrence, hosts meetings and events."
