On October 10, 2022, we visited the site of the Ritter Residence under construction at
2053 Grass Mesa Road near Rifle in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS
installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-7346. At the time of our site visit, the contractor
had installed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new poly 1,000-
gallon two-compartment septic tank, the new effluent line, the concrete distribution box, and the
three gravelless chamber trenches. The septic tank was installed level with access brought to
grade. An effluent filter had been installed in the outlet tee of the septic tank. The trenches were
level, with 4-feet between the trenches. The trenches consisted of 8 Arc36 chambers per trench
(24 total chambers, 360 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each end of
each trench. In our opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield
County OWTS Regulations. Please submit an As-built drawing of the system when available.
No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this
permit.
