Eric and Denee,
On October 31, 2022, we visited the site of the Berhalter Residence under construction
at 209 Cedar Breaks Rd near Rifle in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS
installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-7590. At the time of our site visit, the owner had
installed the new sewer line adjacent to the residence but needed to install the cleanout. The
new poly 1,250-gallon two-compartment septic tank, the new effluent line, the distribution box,
and the three gravelless chamber trenches were also installed. The septic tank and distribution
box were installed level with access brought to grade. An effluent filter had been installed in the
outlet tee of the septic tank. The trenches were level, with 4-feet between the trenches. The
trenches consisted of 8 Infiltrator Arc 36 chambers per trench (32 total chambers, 480 ft2 total
STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each end of each trench. Photos of the
installed cleanout were later sent. In our opinion, this system was installed in general
conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. Please submit an As-built drawing of the
system when available. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health
is required regarding this permit.
