Inspection of shop fabrication or field work at job site: Field
Report: Visually inspected field welding at the tube steel reinforcing bottom of
the W 1 OX22 steel beam & at the field welded steel beam web stiffeners.
The onsite welding inspected above appeared to be in substantial conformance
with the construction documents, and the quality requirements of the AWS D1.1
Structural Welding Code.
Also visually inspected field welding at the column cap to beam connections &
at the steel beam connection welds.
Column caps were welded to the bottoms of the steel beams in lieu of bolting
with 1/4" fillet welds all around, and the double angle clips were welded at three
sides with 1/4" fillet welds to the steel beam webs at the steel beam connection.
Welds appeared to be of acceptable quality per the requirements of the AWS D 1.1
Structural Welding Code.
