You, the property owner, installed the system. The OWTS design is based on 3-bedrooms. Two-bedrooms are being developed now with the possibility of 1 additional bedroom in the future. An average daily wastewater flow of 450 GPD was used. The 4-inch diameter Schedule 40 sewer line exiting the residence has a double-sweep clean out and a minimum 2% grade to the septic tank. There are several 90 degree vertical drops in the sewer line. The system installation included a 1000-gallon, two-compartment Roth® poly septic tank with an effluent filter on the outlet tee. This filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed. Risers bring the manhole lids to grade for access. Effluent gravity flows to a distribution box, and then to three gravelless chamber trenches. The distribution box was accessible from grade with flow equalizers installed on each outlet pipe in the distribution box to assure equal flow to each trench. Each trench consists of 15 ‘Quick 4’ Standard Plus Infiltrator® chambers for a total 45 chambers and 540 square feet of infiltrative area. There was at least 4-feet of undisturbed soil between each trench. Inspection ports were installed at the beginning and end of each trench. Ports may be cut to grade and placed in sprinkler boxes for access. The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. CBO Inc. should be notified if changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent on the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions. Sincerely, CBO Inc. At the time of our site visit, the owner had installed the new sewer line but needed to add a cleanout adjacent to the residence. The new poly 1,000-gallon two-compartment septic tank was installed level with access brought to grade but needed to replace a 90-degree elbow with two 45-degree elbows at the septic tank inlet. An effluent filter had been installed in the outlet tee of the septic tank. Photos were later sent showing the installed cleanout and the two 45-degree elbows at the inlet of the tank. The trenches were level, with 4-feet between the trenches. The trenches consisted of 15 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per trench (45 total chambers, 540 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each end of each trench. In our opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. Please submit an As-built drawing of the system when available. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
