On August 13, 2021 we visited the site of the Simmons Residence under construction at
16661 Hwy 82 near Carbondale in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation
pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-6688. At the time of our site visit, the owner had installed the
new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence and the new concrete 1,500-gallon two-
compartment septic tank. On November 8, 2022, we visited the site of the Simmons Residence
again. At the time of this site visit, the owner had installed the new effluent line, the Orenco
Advantex higher-level treatment system, and the one rock and pipe bed. The septic tank was
installed level with access brought to grade. An effluent filter had been installed in the outlet tee
of the septic tank. The bed consisted of one foot of clean graded gravel and 5 distribution
laterals with holes drilled every 3 feet on the bottom (400 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection
ports were present at each corner of the bed. In our opinion, this system was installed in general
conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield
County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
