Subject: Footing Subgrade Observation
278 Ronce Lane
Garfield County, Colorado
Project No. GS06528.001 F-305
We visited 278 Ronce Lane in Garfield County on June 2, 2021. The purpose
of our site visit was to observe the footing subgrade soils in the foundation excava-
tion for the building. Photographs from our site visit are attached.
CTL I Thompson, Inc. performed a geotechnical engineering investigation for
the project (Project No. GS06528.000-120; report dated January 21, 2021). Our re-
port recommended a footing foundation for the building that is supported by the un-
disturbed, silty gravel and cobble soil or densely -compacted, granular structural fill.
Our representative observed the natural gravel and cobbles exposed at foundation
elevation during multiple site visits on May 25 and 27 and June 2, 2021.
Based on our field data, as well as observations during our site visits, we
judge the natural gravel and cobbles are suitable for support of footings designed for
a maximum allowable bearing pressure of 4,000 psf.
We are available to discuss the contents of this letter. If you have questions
or need additional information, please call.
