Report: V y inspected complete joint penetration shop welding in process
at the apex of the bent beams pi ece marked 98l, 1081, and 1181. Above
inspections included verification of welderr qualifications/w.p.s., use of proper
welding electrodes/materials, inspection of the joint preparation, root pass welds,
random observations of the intermediate weld pass layers, and a finalinspection of
the completed welds.
The shop welding inspected above appeared to be in substantial confonnance
with the shop plans & the quality requirements of the AWS Dl.1 Structural
Welding Code.
