Colleen,
I confirm that there will be no propane or natural gas lines extended underneath or into the proposed pole barn.
I also confirm that there will be no mechanical furnace, boilers, wood or pellet stoves, fireplace, or radiant heat tubing
roughed in or installed under this permit.
I have also included updated plans for the concrete floor showing that it is not structural. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your consideration,
Brian DeCrow

Cramer:
The building permit application packet for DeCrow detached shop building at 248 Fox Run Rd,
Rifle Colorado is currently being reviewed.
Below are a few questions to help understand the overall work scope and an engineering
comment / correction for which we will need answered prior to issuing the building permit:
woRK scoPE CLARIFICATION QUESTION / COMMENTS
L May we confirm there is no proposed propane or natural gas supply lines or branch
piping extending inside the structure under the current permit?
2. And the proposed building structure will have no permanent mechanical heating
furnace boilers, infloor radiant heat tubing, pellet / wood stoves, fireplace appliances
lnstalled or roughed in under the current permit?
3. Cascade Constructlon descrlption sheet references 4Ð concrete floor for 40x56 Post
l-rame building rebar at 24" grid. Please confirm concrete floor installation (by Cascade
Barns)will not pose conflict with stamped structural details from the Engineer of
Record? At first glance, we are presunring this fk¡r¡r is a non-strucl.ural slab
detail. Please consult the Engineer of Record f any stamped foundation detail need
updating.
REQUESTED ACTION:
Answers to #1-3 above can be resp onded to via email cwi rth @earfield-cou ntv.com.
No resubmission of floor plan nor architectural plan sheets is required nor requested at this
time; upon receiving your email replies will become stapled to the OFFICE and FIELD COPY of
plans.
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER OF RECORD - WRITTEN EMAIL RESPONSE
REqUTRED
prior to completing our structural review:
See attached GarCo Bldg Reqts PDF.
Engineer's Project #2325, Floor Plan Sheet A1 stamped by James Joseph Cramer dated
3/r7/2023lists 40 PSF SNOW LOAD.
However, Eagle Metal and Blanca View Truss LLC stamped specifications from Monte Vista
Colorado state TCLL 30 PSF.
We are mildly concerned if roof design will comply with Garfield County's snow load guidelines
and if correct truss package (will be) shipped.
We ask the Structural Engineer of Record to please verify DeCrow property site location
elevation data.
Where site elevations are less than 7,OOO ft, a minimum 40 PSF SNOWLOAD measured from
Pf ROOF is required (not from Pg GROUND!.
Prior to issuing the building permit, we need to receive an email response affirming the ROOF
SNOW LOAD complies (and the correct truss design package will be provided).
Your email response will be added as formal document in the permanent building file records.
Email responses can be sent to me direetly -at cwirth@garfield-countv.com.
ln event, the verification process results in AMENDING structural plan sheets, we request (2)
sets of UPDATED structural pages be delivered to the Garfield County Community Development
Department front desk at your earliest convenience. Walk-in customers are welcome to visit
between 8:30 am - 4:00 pm weekdays. Our department will be closed on Monday July 3 and
Tuesday July 4 in observance of lndependence Day.
Thanks for your attention to this building detail, we look forward to seeing this project move
forward.
