As l,m reviewing the home under residential "alterations" section of the newly adopted 2018 lnternational Energy Conseruation Code (l ECC) : I am assuming that this renovation would be considered Alteration Level 2 1. RE: the supplemental insulation on upper level, do you know what insulation material, R-values are proposed yet? And if the home hasexisting roof ventilation and baffles? The upper fìoor is a combination of sloped rafters and side walls (photo attached) I have included a pDF showing the existing sloped roof and the proposed improvement' Since this is an alteration to the rool and not new construction, I understand that we do not have to comply with the established roof R-value of 2018 IECC 1 lheprCIposedtmprovementwrll rncreasethethermal pertornralrceol theslopedrootby //u/o,fromaneshrnatedK-l1 to R-19. 'lhe roof detail improvement is full cavity filled, therefore venting in this areas is not necessarv. The roofs other than at the u¡r¡,rer flc,ror lrave flat t-rr-rttr-un r:hords with attic cavities. Garrett has confirmed that these cavities are vented by a ridge vents installed in 2011. Since the flat ceiling roofs will be untouched, we do not intencJ to verify or install air baffles. 2" llillll any of the building heating system be replaced? No Wi'll exìsting heatitg system remain üntoüch€d? Yes, although some supply grllls may be reposltloned 3. Âre you installing any new permânent lighting? Due to the age of the building, Garrett will have the whole building rewired under a separate State permit He is aware that 90% of iighting fixtures must have high-efficacy lamps Thankg Colleen Colleer¡ Wirtt¡ SuildingPlams Emminer Garfield County f.omnnunity Devel¡opmrent 108 8th Street, Suite 401 {974} 945-1377 ext X61O cwi rth (Ðga rfield-cou ntv. co nr FromJeffJot¡nson<jeff@iiarchitectu > Ser¡h Wednesdal¡, tctober LL, 2t23 3:2û FM To: eolþ-en Wi¡th <cwirth@earfie|cl- >; garrickfronteI|a@gmai!.com S{¡bt€c* Rf: Gfiå*ååM inf€risr r€n*odeã 34?6 Cß 38å Farå{¡?ute is now UfiÐfß frfVinry tli Colleen, ! consr¡lted w,ith Ga¿T ick and have answered ycur ques$ens in Bt-U E belo+ry Please let us know if you have further questions or co¡nrnents.
