On July 31, 2023, we visited the residence under construction at 1451 County Road 108 near Carbondale
in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT‐7870. At the time
of our site visit, the contractor had installed the new cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new sewer line, the
new concrete 1,500‐gallon two‐compartment septic tank with a high‐head pump in the second compartment of
the tank, the pump line, the Automatic Distributing Valve (ADV), and the 1,80 ft2 Soil Treatment Area (STA). The
STA consists of five trenches of 18 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per trench (90 chambers total). The new tank and
ADV were installed level with access to grade. The ADV was installed at the high point of the OWTS. Observation
ports were installed at each end of each trench. Additionally, we received a certification letter and as‐built drawing
from the OWTS designer indicating the OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. The report
included a pump start‐up letter from Valley Precast that indicated the pump and control panel had been started
properly. In our opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations.
No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
