Hello Wes,
Appreciate your follow through and Ashley's inputting referencing Jeffs earlier timeframe for the fire wall change. I
was able to look back through the building database notes & further located our OFFICE COPY of the FIRE WALL
REV|S|ONS rolled up in the back of the originally issued OFFICE COPY of plans. lt could be at some point since beginning
of construction to present, that the FIELD COPY of the FIRE WALL REVISIONS got separate from rest of the plan set (or
perhaps were never picked up). As the fire wall alternate detail was related to the original fire-sprinkler CONDITION, it
seems I had,,waived" an additíonal plan checkfee and accepted it asAlternative Method and Materialsforthe issued
permit. l'll cc: John Plano and John Hendricks, so they are both "in the loop" on the approved change order lor 297
Stonefly.
Nothing further is requested or required for plans examination review at this time'

Attached is a change order for the 2hr firewall at 297 Stonefly Drive in Carbondale. The architect and I are not sure if
this was ever sent to you for review or not as I took this job over mid stream from another pM.
Let me know if you need anything else to move forward with the change. The wall was inspected and passed during
construct¡on. lf this document never reached your desk I apologize and should have followed up on this when I took
over the project in late 2022.

Good morning Ashley,
I received a call from the Garfield County Building Official yesterday and the only hold up on getting CO is that the plans
that were approved by the county said we needed sprinklers. The plan set that we have been working off of mention
the 2hr firewall noted below. We need to submit a plan that shows the 2hr firewall along with a detail for how it was to
be built so the county can get the paperwork corrected in the file for completion. I met with the Building Official onsite
to go over how they wanted it built and we built it to his specification. They have inspected it along the way and it
passedbuttheyneedtheplanstomatch. Weinstalled2layersolSfS" typeXonbothsídesofthewallcloudedinred
with offset seams and butt joints. The first layer was fire taped prior to the second layer being applied. The drywall is
continuous from a footer Jeff had poured in the crawlspace up to the underside of the roof decking and it does extend
over the covered patio on the south side. All penetrations were sealed with fire collars, intumescent caulking was used
for smaller penetrations and the wall was insulated with Rockwool. A 90min steel door with smoke seal, door sweep
and self closing hinges was used for the door.
We need to send the revised plans noting we are doing the fire wall in lieu of sprinklers and that the living space is no
longer above what would require sprinklers now that the garage and storage areas are separate. Colleen Wirth is the
