Parcel #4, Faranhyll Ranch) Project Number: GS06572.001 -l 32 Septic Permit No. SEPT159 We previously provided an OWTS design for the proposed residence and auxiliary dwelling unit (ADU) located at 565 Faranhyll Ranch Road (see Project No. GS06572.000-132, dated Augusl13,2021). As requested, we visited the subject site on June 20, 2023. The purpose of our visit was to observe components of the OWTS that were installed. At the time of our visit, we observed deviations from our design, listed in this letter. Soil Treatment Area ISTA) During a site visit on June 20,2023 we observed the components of the STA were installed and backfilled. . Dimensions: Six 3' x 91' trenches were installed with 4' of undisturbed soil between trenches (1,584 square feet total). Six 1.5" diameter, 91'distribution laterals were installed in the trenches.22lnfiltrator@ Std. Quick4@ Ghambers and 2 lnfiltrator@ Quick4@ Plus All-in-One endcaps were installed in each trench. The STA was constructed at a slightly different orientation than designed; it was oriented east-west rather than northwest- southeast. ¡ Effluent Piping: Laterals and manifold piping were installed level. Laterals were covered with lnfiltrator@ Std. Quick4@ Chambers, so we were unable to observe perforations. Observation ports were installed at the end of each trench. Transport lines from the automatic distributing valve (ADV) and air (vacuum) release valve as well as the manifold were backfilled at the time of our visit. We were unable to verifo slopes or connections. . Setbacks: Minimum setbacks to the home, tank, and property boundary were obtained. Septic/Dose Tank and Sewer Line During our site visit, we observed one septic tank that had been installed with interior components and had been backfllled. . Tank A 2,500-gallon, three compartment precast septic tank was installed level and backfilled. The tank was fitted with risers and lids. The riser on the dose tank was observed to be at least 24" inches in height to accommodate a bury depth of 24". . Pump: An Orenco PF3005 high head effluent pump and a Biotube filter were installed in the dose tank. An auto air release valve was not observed due to backfill. The STA was installed in a different orientation from the plans, and the length of transport line between the air release valve and the STA manifold was significantly reduced. We observed alarm system functionality and a squirt test on the lateral nearest to the septic tank. We observed a squirt height of over 7 feet from the observation port elevation in the southernmost lateral. The other laterals will need to be squirt tosted. . Sewer Line: The sewer line was in place from the residence to the septictank but had previously been backfilled. We were unable to verify slope and bedding. . Setbacks: Minimum setbacks to the home, tank, and properly boundary were obtained. Deviations from Desiqn During our site visit, we observed several deviations from our design The STA was installed at a different orientation than designed. CTLIT does not take issue with the STA orientation. The STA, transport lines, and sewer line were backfilled prior to our arrival. We were unable to verifo pipe slopes or sizes. A new pump curve is providing using estimated pipe lengths of the installed system. The STA was installed at a greater depth than designed, especially at the distal end of the distribution laterals. Provided the soils at the infiltrative surface are consistent with the design and maximum cover depths from the design are followed, CTLIT does not take issue with the installed depth of the dishibution laterals.
