Garfield County Public Health staff were unable to observe the installation of the replacement
septic tank at 435 Lions Ridge Road near Carbondale in person. On September 19, 2023, the
property owner provided photographs documenting the installation of the replacement tank for
the residence at 453 Lions Ridge Road near Carbondale in Garfield County, Colorado pursuant
to OWTS Permit # SEPT-8083. As indicated in the photographs, the contractor had installed a
new cleanout adjacent to the building and a new 1,000-gallon two-compartment Norwesco
septic tank with an effluent filter in the outlet tee of the tank. The septic tank is found on the
approved list of septic tanks by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
(CDPHE) and was installed level with access brought to grade. We understand that the new
tank was installed in a new location due south of the former tank. In our opinion, this tank was
installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or
review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
