On December 27, 2022, we visited the residence at 1719 County Road 129 near Glenwood Springs in Garfield
County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT‐7784. At the time of our
site visit, the contractor had installed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new
poly 1,000‐gallon two‐compartment septic tank with an effluen7784t filter in the second compartment of the
tank followed by a 500‐gallon pump chamber with a high‐head pump in the chamber, the new pump line, the
automatic distributing valve, and the four‐row unlined sand filter. The septic tank and pump chamber were
installed level with access brought to grade. The automatic distributing valve was installed at the high point
of the system. The distribution laterals were installed level in GeoMat sheets (13 ft by 43.5 ft unlined sand
filter, 3 feet of secondary sand material, 565.5 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at
each corner of the bed. In our opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County
OWTS Regulations. Additionally, we received an installation observation letter and As‐Built drawing from the
design engineer (dated April 4, 2023) indicating “the system was generally installed according to
specifications.” The documents from the designer included a pump start‐up letter from Valley Precast
indicating that the system was started properly. No further action or review from Garfield County
Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
