Subject: Final Acceptance Letter
Murillo Residence
152 Rusty Spur Trail
Rifle, CO 81650
OWTS Permit #: SEPT-7302
November 16, 2023
Chela and Howard,
Due to scheduling and staffing issues, Garfield County Public Health staff were unable to
observe the installation of the Onsite Wastewater Treatment System in person. However, on
October 17, 2023, the designer of the system visited the site of the Murillo Residence under
construction at 152 Rusty Spur Trail near Rifle in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the
OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-7302. At the time of their site visit, the
contractor had installed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new
concrete 1,500-gallon two-compartment septic tank, the new effluent line, the distribution box,
and three gravelless trenches. An effluent filter had been installed in the outlet tee of the septic
tank. The trenches consisted of 20 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per trench (60 total chambers,
720 ft2 total STA). Inspection ports were present at each end of each trench. We received a
letter from the system designer dated October 24, 2023 which stated “the OWTS was installed
in general conformance with the….design.” In our opinion, this system was installed in general
conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield
County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
Thank you,
