Garfield County Public Health staff were unable to observe the installation of the replacement
Soil Treatment Area (STA) at 84 Lariat Road near Silt in person. On December 8, 2023, the
system designer provided photographs documenting the installation of the replacement STA for
the residence at 84 Lariat Road near Silt in Garfield County, Colorado pursuant to OWTS Permit
# SEPT-8438. As indicated in the photographs, the contractor had installed the new effluent
filter in the outlet tee of the existing septic tank, the new effluent line, the new distribution box,
and the four gravelless chamber trenches. The trenches consisted of 16 Infiltrator Quick4
chambers per trench (64 total chambers, 768 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were
present at each end of each trench. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system
and a letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design
from the OWTS designer dated December 12, 2023. In our opinion, this system was installed in
general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from
Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
