Re: Open-hole inspection, Proposed Construction, Lot 43, Rodeo Drive, Rifle, CO
American GeoServices, LLC (AGS) have performed field inspection/evaluation at the referenced
site to inspecVevaluate the excavated footing subgrades in an open-hole excavation for the
proposed construction. We noted soil conditions at the excavated footing subgrade levels, the
site conditions matching the descriptions provided in the original geotechnical report, Based on
our field inspections, we approve the exposed subgrades for an allowable bearing capacity as
was noted in the original geotechnical report. The finished subgrades are approved for rebar and
concrete placement, subject to the following recommendations, conditions, and limitations:
1. Any loose/disturbed soils should be surficially compacted and wet soils removed, if noted prior
to the placement of concrete.
2. The considerations including geotechnical risks, recommendations, limitations, and drainage
recommendations given in the original geotechnical report are clearly understood and strictly
followed by the owner, contractor, and others, to assure long-term site stability and
performance.
Evaluation of underpinning of any existing structures, shoring, and any related inspection or
design was beyond our scope of services for this letter report. Evaluation of the stability of any
existing adjacent and nearby structures was beyond our scope of services for this letter report,
Evaluation of any surcharge conditions, structural evaluation of any kind, or civil engineering
evaluation of any kind was beyond our scope of services.
ln this report, we have presented judgments based partly on our understanding of the proposed
construction and partly on the data we have obtained. This report meets professional standards
expected for reports of this type in this area. Our company is not responsible for the conclusions,
opinions or recommendations made by others based on the data we have presented.
