IV. TIMBER CONNECTORS: A. 1) AI! hardware (e.g., column caps and bases, beam and joist hangers, etc.) as specified on these plans has been denoted by Simpson Strong -Tie designations. Hardware used Is to be Simpson or equal, with the engineer to approve the use of altemate hardware other than Simpson where the bad capacity of such hardware is a consideration. All hardware shall be installed with nails or bolts exactly as called for by the manufacturer, unless noted otherwise on these plans. 2) Where plans indicate "Q"series hardware (e.g., CC(Q) or CB(Q), etc.), either standard or Q" sedes maybe used, unless noted otherwise..
