On Site Wastewater System (OWTS) Observation
Permit Number SEPT-7964
High Country Engineering Inc. (HCE) visited the construction site on May 9,
2023, to observe the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS) prior
to its backfilling. The installer: Mr. Samuel Ruiz, and Mr. Ted White, Garfield County
Environmental Health Specialist were also in attendance.
The OWTS is sized to accommodate sewage form three (3) bedrooms. Elements
of the system that were observed included: influent discharge piping within open
trenches, a 1,000 gallon septic tank, a distribution box, effluent distribution piping in
open trenches, soil treatment area infiltration chambers in trench configuration. Enclosed
are photographs
The observed OWTS appeared to be installed in substantial conformance with the approved
design drawings by High County Engineering, dated August 1, 2022.
