OWTS Permit #: SEPT‐6898
March 22, 2024
Barbara,
On August 27, 2021, we visited the site of the residence under construction at 2078 County Road 102
near Carbondale in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS
Permit # SEPT‐6898. At the time of our site visit, the contractor had installed the new sewer line and
cleanout adjacent to the residence and barn, the new concrete 1,500‐gallon two‐compartment septic
tank, the new effluent line, the distribution box, and the four gravelless trenches. The septic tank and
distribution box were installed level with access brought to grade. An effluent filter had been installed in
the outlet tee of the septic tank. The trenches were level, with 4‐feet of undisturbed soil between the
trenches. The trenches consisted of 60 feet of GeoMat distribution material placed on 6‐inches of
secondary sand media in 3 feet wide trenches with perforated laterals placed on top of the GeoMat (720
ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each end of each trench. We received an
installation certification letter and as‐built drawing from the design engineer dated June 15, 2023. In our
opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations.
Thank you,
