RE: 751 County Road227
Garfield Counry CO
Garfield County Building Department
Dear Mr. Plano,
Silver Town Structures is the engineer of record for the proposed retrofit construction at
the address above. Matt Monger of Silver Town Structures visited the site with Mark
Stieber of HCB Group on 0l /30/2024. The purpose of the meeting was to determine
the feasibility of the proposed project, observe the existing structure and to acquire the
sealed steel building construction documents produced by Great Western Buildings
(GWB)dated 05/14/20.
At the time of the site observation Mark had exposed the existing concrete foundation to
the footing that extended to a 36" frost depth in multiple locations. The foundation
appeared to be placed in accordance with typical local practices. No foundation drawings
have been provided to review
After reviewing the GWB construction documents demonstrate that the main wind
resisting system uses a panel shear bracing designed for an ultimate wind speed of 115
mph in exposure C. The gravity system was designed using 40 psf roof snow load and a 2
psf dead load. Both of these existing structural systems were taken into account in our
design with the new proposed retrofitted structure.
This letter is to document that we have agreed to make ourselves available to consult if
any new information regarding the structure allows for a better assessment. Any structural
modifications necessary will bre provided at that time.
If there are any additional questions please feel free to reach out.
Respectfully Submitted
