The soils exposed in the excavation are suitable for support of the proposed addition on spread footings sized for an allowable bearing pressure of L,500 psf. The soils tend to compress and there could be some post-construction settlement. The settlement would be differential to the existing residence and should be considered in the design. A letter report will be sent shortly with additional observations and recommendations Thanks, James Jomes Pqrsons.
