Hi John,
Thank you for speaking with me earlier regarding the Hansen project.
We have decided NOT to include the shower in the bathroom. We do not wish to resize the
powder room, because we do not want to redraw the plans. Please red line the canceled shower
on your side and we will proceed without the ADU certification/permit.
It will be a 2 car garge with a bedroom, office, and powder room above.
Regards,
Jose Gonzalez

Good morning Jose,
I have attached a list of Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS)
professionals that provide services in Garfield County. The list is not
exhaustive, but provides a starting point for you to find the professional that
best fits your situation. We do not recommend one professional over another.
Contact us with questions, and have a great day!

Do You have a phone number for me us to call and get the septic system inspected?

Jose,
The county has no records of the existing septic system. This could be a
major upgrade that can stall the project. I would like a confirmation from
the County’s Environmental Health Department prior to moving forward.
This typically happens during the Building Permit review.
The Building Permit will need to be approved prior to moving forward.
Sincerely,
John Plano

Good afternoon,
We will fill out the ADU packet.
We never listed it as a barn, its is a garage with a bedroom, office and
bathroom above.
Once we fill out the new packet will you reconsider grading permit so we
can get started?

Jose Gonzalez

Hi Linda,
I’m not comfortable issuing a Grading Permit to get your
barn started prior to issuance of the full Building Permit. The
grading will have to wait until the Building Permit review is
complete and the Building Permit can be issued, typically a 4
week turnaround.
1. A bathtub or shower is not allowed in a detached
accessory building unless it’s an Auxiliary Dwelling
Unit (ADU).
2. The existing septic will need to be verified for the
addition of the bedroom and powder room or
bathroom if the permit is submitted as an ADU.
I’ve included the ADU Packet if you would like to pursue an
ADU.
