Good Morning:
A representative of Kumar & Associates observed the excavation on May 9, 2024. The
soils exposed in the excavation are consistent with those previously encountered on
the site and suitable for an allowable bearing pressure of 1,500 psf. The soils are
moisture sensitive and tend to settle under load especially when wetted. Precautions
should be taken to prevent subsurface wetting and the ground surface should be
graded to drain away from the structure as recommended in our report dated January
15, 2024. Other recommendations in our report should be followed as applicable.
An engineering letter will be sent when it is available.
