RE: September 10th, 2024 Site Visit

Rick,
On September 10, 2024, we performed a site visit along with the contractor to review the framing items noted
within the 9/7/24 Correction Notice from Garfield County. While on site, we provided a general review of the
current conditions of the affected structure, as requested and as were visible at the time of our visit. It is our
understanding that the garage addition south of grid 9 will not be constructed at this time.
The following items were confirmed during our walk through:
Modifications to Lower Roof Framing Plan, RE: A/S2.04.
1. A new (3) 2x8 header was installed at Grids C.9 & 7 with an HUC68 hanger at the east end.
2. As requested, CS14 straps were installed at each support column at each cantilevered end of the (3) 11
7/8” LVL beams along Grids 8.2, C.8 & D.6.
3. L90 angles were attached to packed out web, at every other rafter, to the LVL structural fascia.
Modifications to Level 2 Floor Plan, RE: A/S2.03.
1. Doorway in new wall along Grid 8.75 was moved around the corner to south end of the wall line along Grid
C.8. (3) 11 7/8” LVL header was installed.
2. (3) 11 7/8” LVL beam was installed along north side of the elevator shaft, continuous to wall at Grid C.8.
Modifications to Main Level Plan, RE: A/S2.02.
1. 1 ½” diameter penetration was made in the (4) 11 7/8” LVL beam along Grid C.8, approximately 36” off
south bearing end, with the lower edge of the penetration 3” up from the bottom of the beam. This needs
to be analyzed further and may require reinforcement.
2. (4) 11 7/8” LVL beam was hung off of the existing steel beam along Grid 8 with an HGUS 7.25/12. Existing
steel beam should be packed out per 17/S0.02.
Modifications to Foundation Plan, RE: A/S2.01.
1. Top of the existing concrete wall was cut down approximately 6 inches, flush with the existing garage slab.
All modifications above are structurally acceptable as noted. We are coordinating with the contractor to assess all
structure noted as VIF, verify in field, on our structural permit set, dated February 5, 2024. If there are any other
discrepancies or modifications from the structure shown within our permit set, please notify us.
