Our office has reviewed the inspector’s comments, and our responses are below. · 7/8” diameter holes were field-drilled through the webs of several main floor joists at the edge of the “no-drill” zone (6” from the end of the joists). The holes are approximately mid- depth of the joists and located approximately 5½” – 7½” from the ends of the joists. o Our office has analyzed the joists, and they are acceptable. · Roof overframing needs to be reviewed and approved by engineer of record. o Our office has reviewed pictures of the roof overframing at the garage dormers, rear patio, and master bedroom. Based on our observations, the roof overframing is acceptable. · Wall framing supporting the diagonal braces for the garage awning roof does not match the plans. o Our office has reviewed pictures of the wall framing, and it is acceptable. · Gable end overhang on the garage dormers was framed with 2x6 ladder blocking instead of lookouts. This is acceptable for roof overhangs up to 12”. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
