RE: Can and Willserve letterfor proposed ADU on Parcel #2L19344O7017
Dear Mr. Munoz:
The purpose of this letter is to provide confirmation that the City of Glenwood Springs can and will serve
your parcel of land located at 628 County Road 133 (Mel Rey Road), which is Lot 14, Block 7 of the
Western Hills Subdivision in West Glenwood parcel # 2L1934407017, wilh domestic water lt is
understood that an ADU is being considered. The cost of any necessary extensions or taps to prove
these services the sole responsibility of the applicant.
Normally, a request for water service outside the corporate limits would require a pre-annexation
agreement. However, this parcel is located within what was the West Glenwood Springs Water District.
When the West Glenwood Springs Water District was dissolved in 1988, the Glenwood Springs City
Council adopted Resolution # B8-3, which removed this requirement for parcels within the District as it
existed on that date. Prior to final approval of the water service and associated tap, the following
conditions must be met:
t. Applicant must submit a plan, for the City's review and approval, indicating the proposed tap
location, the tap size, and the proposed curb stop box location. This can-and-willserve letter is
an approval for 1 ADU up to 1,000 square feet. lf a larger ADU is proposed a detailed plan set
will be required for review by the city.
2. All applicable tap and system improvements fees, as calculated by the City's Community
Development Department, shall become due and payable prior to the tap being made on the
City's main.
3. All water uses must be metered, with the meters being inspected by the appropriate
department, An account must be set up with the Finance Department prior to the services being
energized.
4. Following completion of project,'an as-built drawing preferably in an AutoCAD drawing file
format (,dwg) of the services and associated appurtenances shall be submitted for review and
approval by the City.

6. Water services must meet all applicable Municipal Code, Water Department and Engineering
Department Rules and Regulations
7. The ADU shall not encroach the waterline easement adjacent to the parcel.
