Subject: Open Hole lnspection
Mr. Gilson,
Geo Quest (GQ) visited the project at 8339 CR 31.1 on August LL,2A25 to observe the
foundation excavation for single family residence referenced in the geotechnical investigation
report produced by Geo Quest with project number 24-L56 and dated June X.9, 2924. At the
time of the site visit the structure footprint was excavated to the native subgrade footing
elevation. The surface had been compacted with a rernote control, walk behind, sheepsfoot
roller. GQ was not present for the excavation or compaction process.
The soil conditions observed are consistent with those encountered in the geotechnical
investigation and the allowable bearing capacity value listed in the plan set dated 6/26/25
prepared by others. The attached photos show the subgrade surface on the day of the site visit.
Proper drainage should be maintained throughout the construction process to direct water
away from the excavation and subgrade soil. GQ should be contacted for review if soil
conditions change before foundation elements are placed.
Respectfully submitted,
Geo Quest, LLC
