General Provisions
1) The applicant represents all parties in interest, and affirms that tho driveway approach (es) is to be constructed byhim for the bona fide purpose of securing aooess to his property and not f;d;"rpose of doing business orservicing vehicles on the road right of way.
2) the applicant shall funrish all labor andlaterials, perform all work, andpay all costs in connection with theconstruction of the driveway(s). All work shall be completed within nin.ry (90) days of thep.*rit aut".
3) The type of consfiuction shall be as designated-and/ol approved by the Board of County Commissioners or theirrepresentative and all materials used shall be of satisfaclory quality and subject to inspection *O uppro"uf of tfr"Board of County Commissioners or their representative.

5) The Applicant shall a$fllme responsibility for the rmoval or clearance of snow, ice, or sleet upon any portion ofthe driveway approach (os) even though deposited on the driveway(s) in the course of the cdt;;;removal
operations.
6) In the event it becomes necessary to rernove anyright-of-way fence, the posts on either side of the entrance shallbe surely braced before the fence is cut t9 prwent any slaoking of the rqnainidf"noe and all posts *J*irremoved shall be turned over to the District Road Supervisor of tlte Board of Ciunty Commissioners.
7) No revisions or additions shall be mado to the driveway(s) or its appurtonances on the right-of-way withoutwritten permission of the Board of County Commissioners.
8) Provisions and speoifications outlined lereil shall apply on all roads under the jurisdiction of the Board of CountyCommissioners of Garfield County, Colorado, and the Specifications, set forth Ln the attached hereof andincorporated herein as conditions hereof.
9) Final lnspectlon of driveway wtll be required upon completion and must be approved by person issuingpermlt or representative of person issuing permiL
The inspection and sign offmust be done prior to nny CO from the Buildlng and planning
Department being issued.

Specifications
1. A driveway approach is undorstood to_ be that portion of the county road right-of way between thopavement edge and theproperty line that is designed and usod for the interihange of trafiic
between the roadway and abutting property.
2. At any intersectiono a driveway shail be reetricted for a sufficierrt distance fipm the intersection topreserve the normal and safo movement of traffic. (It is recornmended forrural residence
entrances that a minimum interseotion clearance of 50 feet be provided and for rural commercial
entrances a minimum of 100 feet be provided.)
3. All entrances and exits shall be so looated and constructed that vehicles approaching or using
them will be able to obtain adequate sight distance in both directions atong the county road ii
ordor to maneuver safely and without interfering with county road trafiio.
4. The Applicant shall not be permitted to eiect any sign or diqplay material, either fixed or
movable, on or extending over any portion of the county roao right-of-way.
5. Generally, no moro than one approac! shalf be allowed any parcel or property the frontage of
whioh is less ft* o1" hundred (100) feet. Additional entrances orexi'ts torpatcets havin! a
frontage in excess of one hundred 100) feet shall be pomritted oniy after rhi*-g of actual
convenience and necessity.
6. All driveways shall be so located that the flared portion adjace,nt to the travol'ed way will not
encroach upon adjoining property,
7 ' No commercial driveway shall have a width.greater than thirty (30) feet measured at right angles
to the centerline of the driveway except as increased by perrrissitte raaii. No noncommercial
driveway shall have a width greater thantwenty (20) feet measured at right angles to the
centerline of the driveway, except as inoreased by permissible radii.
8. The axis of an approach to the road may be at aright angle to the centerline of the county road
and of any anglo between ninoty (90) degrees andiixty (OO; Aegree, but shall not be less thansixty (60) degrees. Adjusfinent will be made aocording to the type of traffio to be served and otherphysical conditions.
9. The construction of parking or servicing-areas on the county road right-of-way is qpecifically
prohibited. Commercial establishments forcustomer vehioles shouliprovideltr-the-road parking
facilities,
10. The grade of entrance and exit shall slope downward and away fromthe road surface at the same
rate as the normal shoulder slope and for a distance equal to the widttr of the shoulder but in no
case less than twenty (20) feet from the pavement edge. Approach grades are restrioted to not
more than ten percent (10%).
11. All driveways and approaches shall be so constnrcted that they shall not interfere with the
drainage system 9f the shest or county road. The Applicant witl U" required to provide, at his
own oxp€'llse, drainage struotures at enkancos and exits, which will become an integral'part of the
gxistinc drainage systern- The Board of County Commissioners or their representative, prior to
installation, must approve the dimensions and types of all drainage structures.
Note: Tltls permit shall be made available nt the site where and when work is being done. A work
sketch or drawiug of the proposed driveway(c) must accompany application. No permlt will be
issued without drawing blueprint, or sketch.
