North 39 Energy was contracted to perform the testing. Site Observations Construction of the building envelope was in final stage, but the duct runs leaving conditioned space were not connected to the air handler. The duct blaster fan was installed at the return and supply runs into the attic space. The pressure inside of the duct system was measured at the ceiling return and supply for the upper level. The pressure inside of the duct system was changed using the duct blaster until the pressure differential between the duct system and the outside reached zero. At this point, the CFM25 was recorded. Duct Blaster Test The ducts were pressurized, utilizing the duct blaster fan testing equipment, to a pressure of 25 Pa. At the test pressure, the CFM was recorded, in order to determine the CFM per conditioned floor area. A measurement of ≤ 3cfm/100sf of CFA is required for compliance. The total duct leakage test resulted in the following measurements: 3.0 CFM25/ 100 Square Feet of Conditioned Area Please call with any questions or concerns.
