Mr. Hendricks:
Calvetti Engineering, Inc. is providing this letter to indicate that a second framing
inspections was performed the above referenced location for the ADU building and that there were some
revisions to the previously permitted building construction plans noted as follows:
1) 2 x 12 pressure blocking was placed between the rafters at 32 in o.c. with 2 x 12 rafters face
nailed to each end of the blocking. The blocking was face nailed into the roof ridge beam. This
connection was provided in lieu of prefabricated metal rafter / ridge beam connectors. This
connection was also provided at the change in roof pitch for both the main frame and ADU
structures.
2) The header schedule was revised and window and door header beams are also noted on the
ADU framing plans.
3) Deck framing layout at the ADU was modified and framing revised to be 2 x 10 @ 16 inch o.c.
Connections to the floor framing are to a 2 x 10 ledger beam connected to the floor framing
with prefab metal hangers. See revosed ADU deck framing Slit 5-10.
4) UpperfFloor framing was modified for the ADU unit to create shorter spans and smaller beam
sizes. Bearing post sizes have been modified. See revised ADU Floor Framing Sheet 5-10.
5) A pad footing was added in the ADU unit garage for a roof ridge beam support post.
6) The cantilever eyebrow framing at the ADU unit upper floor was omitted.
7) The specified enclosure walls at the ADU storage area at ground floor were omitted and the
cmu stem walls were raised on two sides to 35 inches above grade. 1 x 6 wood slates were added
to the post / beam framing at the open storage area at the west end of the ADU building.
8) Concrete slabs at south side exterior were omitted and replaced with stone finish. Two
Mechanical Room Enclosures were added at the stairs in the Garage.
9) The plumbing drain line hole thru center of BCI Floor joist reviewed and approved in garage.
The framing inspection by Calvetti Engineering Inc has deemed that the structural framing with above
listed revisions is substantially in compliance with the permitted plans and the 2015 IBC & IRC Bldg
Codes. See attached revised plans. Should you have any questions, please call or write.
