At the time of our site visit, the contractor had abandoned the existing concrete septic tank by crushing, installed the tie in to the existing sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new poly 1530- gallon two-compartment Infiltrator septic tank with effluent filter installed in the outlet, the new 552-gallon Infiltrator pump chamber housing a screened high-head pump, the new pump line, the ADV, two level distribution manifolds, and the 663 ft2 Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tank and pump chamber were installed level with access brought to grade and were anchored per manufacturer recommendations due to the presence of ground water. The STA consisted of one 13 feet wide by 51 feet long by 2 feet deep unlined sand filter constructed at approximately 1ft below grade with secondary sand media and using GeoMat distribution media. Additionally, inspection ports were present at each corner of the bed. At the time of the inspection, the pump had not been wired. Garfield County Public Health received documentation of dead-men weight, and a pump start up letter, in addition to confirmation that the splice box had been wired properly, that the audio and visual high-water alarms were functioning properly, and mounded cover was sloped appropriately per Garfield County OWTS Regulation 43. Additionally, we received an installation observation letter and As-Built drawing from the system designer (dated September 30, 2025) indicating the OWTS was installed in general conformance with the permitted design. In our opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
