Rifle Gap State Park
Rifle, CO 81650
OWTS Permit #: SEPT-9278
November 17, 2025
On October 6, 2025, we visited Rifle Gap State Park near Gypsum in Garfield County, Colorado to
observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-9278. The system was designed by
Colorado Parks and Wildlife and installed by Wiseland Construction and Excavation. We received an as-
built drawing of the constructed system and a letter certifying that the system was constructed in
compliance with the permitted design from the OWTS designer dated October 30, 2025.
During our inspections, we observed the new concrete 2,000-gallon two-compartment septic tank with an
effluent filter in the outlet tee of the second compartment of the tank, the new effluent line, the new
distribution box, and the Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tank and distribution box were installed
level with access brought to grade. The STA consisted of eight gravelless chamber trenches with 20 Arc
36 chambers per trench (160 total chambers, 2,400 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were
present at the distal end of each trench.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
Thank you,
