On July 16, 2025, and July 18, 2025, we visited the site of the building under construction at 5322 County
Road 243 near New Castle in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to
OWTS Permit # SEPT-8898. The system was designed by Huddleston-Berry Engineering and Testing
LLC and installed by J. Martinez & Co. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system and a
letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design from the OWTS
designer dated October 3, 2025.
During our inspections, we observed the new sewer line and cleanouts adjacent to the building, the new
concrete 1,250-gallon two-compartment septic tank with an effluent filter in the outlet tee of the second
compartment of the tank, the new effluent line, the new distribution box, and the Soil Treatment Area
(STA). The septic tank and distribution box were installed level with access brought to grade. The STA
consisted of two gravelless chamber beds with 40 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per bed (80 total chambers,
960 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each corner of each bed.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
