Subject: Final Acceptance Letter
1193 County Road 102
Carbondale, CO 81623
OWTS Permit #: SEPT-9126
December 16, 2025
On May 23, 2025, and June 3, 2025 we visited the site of the barn and ADU under construction at 1193
County Road 102 near Carbondale in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation
pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-9126. The system was designed by High Country Engineering and
installed by Savage Excavation. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system and a letter
certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design from the OWTS
designer dated December 11, 2025.
During our inspection May 23, 2025, we observed the new effluent line encased for the duration of the
water line crossing and for 5ft on either side. During our inspection June 3, 2025 we observed the
remainder of the effluent line installation, new concrete 1000-gallon gallon two-compartment septic tank
(serving the barn), new poly 1000-gallon two-compartment septic tank (serving the ADU) with an
effluent filter in the outlet tee of the second compartment of the tank, the new distribution box, and the
Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tanks and distribution box were installed level. The STA consisted
of four gravelless chamber trenches with 24 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per trench (96 total chambers,
1152 ft2 total STA). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each end of each trench. Between June
5, and June 12, 2025 we received confirmation of proper installation of new sewer lines, required
cleanouts, inlet tees, effluent filters, septic tank access being brought to grade, and final depth of the
infiltrative surface being brought to no more than 4 feet.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
