On May 18, 2026, we visited the site of the OWTS under construction at 1458 County Road 233 near
Rifle in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-
9809. The system was designed by K-Cronk Engineering and installed by Sergeant and Sons Septic and
Excavation LLC. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system and a letter certifying that
the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design from the OWTS designer dated May
18, 2026.
During our inspections, we observed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the building, the new
poly 1,000-gallon two-compartment septic tank with an effluent filter in the outlet of the second
compartment of the tank, the new effluent line, the new distribution box, and the Soil Treatment Area
(STA). The septic tank and distribution box were installed level with access brought to grade. The STA
consisted of three gravelless chamber trenches with 12 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers per trench (36 total
chambers, 432 ft2 total STA). The slope of the distribution lines and sewer line were corrected during our
inspection, and we received photo documentation on May 20th, and 21st, 2026, of the correction of the
slope of the effluent line, proper abandonment of the septic tank, and installation of inspection ports at
each end of each trench.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
